[if anyone happens into the cafeteria this day, they'll likely find a pile of mildly spicy meat handpies, some noodle dishes, some rice, and mooncakes. all of them with some levels of spice to them because in this house, we indulge in our spices until we're sent back home to places where spice is expensive af.

or at least, that's the sentiment of the cook.

who seems to be absent from the cafeteria.

anyway, free hot foods during this mid-autumn day with its chill winds and cooling temperatures and suspiciously flickering lights and whispers in familiar, desperately missed voices. or maybe that's just the wind.]

[Klein can be found on the front steps of the school, munching on some Desi meat pies he's shoves into a brown bag as he stares out in the direction of the nearby fields and forest.

sure seems like he's debating something or other.

also a bit distracted even from his own thoughts as he tilts his head toward some perceived sound.

there's also a wooden marionette puppet that looks remarkably like himself sitting next to him, its strings all neatly coiled underneath it.]

[ has been holed up persistently in his room for about the past week, only leaving for Eowyn's sword lessons. he has inedia back, he can skip most meals without any downsides again.

but today he ventures outside the bounds of the Kai-un dorm! he has his hair half up, bound in a knit scrunchie at the crown of his head. he can be found at the following places:

1. shed. getting a new sword and more oil and other supplies to clean it of the rust

2. library, looking through texts about Japanese folklore

3. or maybe u are Kai-un and are just happy to see him come far enough out of his room to be in the shared Kai-un area ]

[me i’m kai-un!! she hasn’t asked for her scrunchie back and apparently has no intention to - by now she’s made herself a new pair. the blanket she’s been working on will just have to be that much shorter.]

[ still a little unsure of how to talk to her. during lessons at least he can just focus on lessons. but he's an experienced faker and his underlying tentativeness doesn't show on his face too much

now that he is also wearing the scrunchie all the time for reasons, he does sometimes look at hers like he's considering her reasons for wearing the scrunchies all the time. especially moments like now, when her smile and voice seem particularly bright. but he hasn't said anything ]

[ you ever just happen to come across a guy you badly want to talk to but you know that if you talk to him it's going to result in one or both of you getting mortally injured and you're kinda sorta starting to feel a bit embarrassed about that like you just cannot stop dropping the fucking ball every time you catch it but you want that ball so bad but you're so shit at ball now somehow so you just kind of stare at the ball from a distance and hope that the ball doesn't notice you and leave immediately

that's a really common feeling right? ]
