Who: whomstever
When: October 14th
Where: Cafeteria, outside, wherever
What: idk
Warnings: gosh, those fox fires sure are still around!
[if anyone happens into the cafeteria this day, they'll likely find a pile of mildly spicy meat handpies, some noodle dishes, some rice, and mooncakes. all of them with some levels of spice to them because in this house, we indulge in our spices until we're sent back home to places where spice is expensive af.
or at least, that's the sentiment of the cook.
who seems to be absent from the cafeteria.
anyway, free hot foods during this mid-autumn day with its chill winds and cooling temperatures and suspiciously flickering lights and whispers in familiar, desperately missed voices. or maybe that's just the wind.]

And I'd already been killed and revived twice by the time I kicked a man's head off his shoulders and started down that path.
[... hm. curse.
takes a bite of his Desi pie like it's no big deal.
actually, it does get to him less than it might have once upon a time, but... well. experience and all of that.]
... I should be more relieved I don't have to resort to things like that, but when the cost-benefit is so skewed, it does get difficult not to be frustrated.

I wouldn't say it was skewed in the direction you're implying. There are plenty of reasons beyond morality why it would not have been wise to attempt the 100-pointers.

but then his expression shifts back into the usual smile.]
That's why I said "cost-benefit" and not "moral-benefit". Cost-benefit-wise, doing the 100-point tasks would have made up for the lack of numbers quickly and effectively.
Morally- and socially-speaking, however... yes, there's more cons than pros there.

Wha... Who?!

He wouldn't say who did it, but it was pretty obvious that it happened due to the amount of blood.

Yes, generally the slain can't say much of anything... Has he become another spirit bound to these halls?
no subject
[not actually offended.]
Obviously, he was revived by one or maybe several of the main spirits here.

Please try to recall that most of us here are not gods. I'm not sure there's really anything "obvious" about that.
Moreover, if that were the case, why has Kin'un yet to make a peep about it?
no subject
but he doesn't bother correcting or clarifying, looking a bit amused instead.]
If they know of the situation, then they'd want to be cautious, wouldn't they?
Bringing attention to it would only draw attention to them. That is assuming that they know what happened and who the perpetrator was, which they may not.

I still think you're making quite a few assumptions...

In that case, it could also be that Gehou does not want them to do anything about it, so saying anything is pointless.

How do I keep missing all this...?

... but also... they are my countrymen.

Yet centuries stand between you, if not more. Is that really all it takes to form a connection?
no subject
Perhaps it isn't a relatable sentiment if you've chosen to travel and leave your homeland.
But it was not my choice.

Just try not to let your emotions cloud your judgment. Not all your compatriots are necessarily going to be worth your allegiance.

... I am more cautious and discerning than it may seem. I don't actually like to put myself at unnecessary risk, after all.
