[physical education 101]
Who: transfer students
When: July 1̷̝̤̳̙̫̭̻̝͓̄̇̾̀̕͝9̸̙̱̹͍̮̈́́̀̅͛̐̔̋ 20
Where: the. . . gymnasium?
What: an ice breaker
Warnings: moderate physical injury (not debilitating), psychological horror (absolutely debilitating)
[The school is empty. The school is quiet. The only sound that cuts through the silence is the soft ticking of the hallway clocks that mark the passing of each second.]
[. . .]
[At least. . . until a stiff breeze whips through the classrooms, scattering dirty papers and jerking the curtains aside. The clock strikes 6:00 a.m.]
[The school bell chimes.]

Zuo Le looks a little stunned at the halfway decent shape that Yuma is in, eyes flitting down to the sticker on his uniform. ]
I did... so the ones you woke up with managed to find the key then?
no subject
Yes, our key was underneath the podium. Were you unable to locate yours?
no subject
We... weren't given the chance. At the end we all split up to try and find it at the same time, and before we were given the opportunity to look for long...
[ He'll gestures to himself, and all the small cuts that are littered across him. ]

Yet here you are. What exactly happened . . . ?
no subject
[ He looks down at the cuts on this man's arms. ]
You were in a room with string dangling from the ceiling as well?
no subject
Yes. Like us, you must have denied the voice's request and incurred its wrath.
no subject
[ Gaze snapping back to that sticker now. ]
Only in our case, we were not able to do so in time.

After failing to find the key in time, we were encased in the threads hanging from the ceilings that cut into us. That's the last thing I remember before waking up here.
[ So as far as he can tell, there might have indeed been some differences in how this panned out at the end. ]
no subject
And how do you feel now? Aside from your wounds, does anything else stand out to you?
no subject
Not anything in particular.
[ Considering he'd been crawling with spiders shortly before things really went sideways, the small scurrying spiders he's seen out of the corners of his eyes haven't struck him as too odd, even if it's made him tense up.
He hasn't seen the worst of the haunting images that will plague most of them for the next few weeks.
Yet. ]

The strings tried to reach for us as we were leaving. They likely meant to encase us as well.
[He wonders why. There's already so much that doesn't add up.]
What could the voice have been after . . . ?
no subject
While he'd heard a sort of static white noise as he was surrounded by the strings, he hadn't heard a voice at all. Just the one that had initially demanded their names. ]
What voice are you talking about?

[ His brow furrows. Is it because they hadn't found the key in time, so they hadn't escaped on their own?
Did it... put some kind of mark on them because they didn't escape in time? He looks pretty visibly concerned right now. ]
no subject
[This has been his question all along. Yuma smiles placidly in spite of the implications, if mostly to emphasize his next point.]
I have been wondering that as well. Please stay vigilant, and let us know if anything happens. As you can see, you are not alone.
no subject
Yes, I... understand.
[ Whether he'll let everyone know or not is another matter. What he should do right now is try and see who he can trust. Certainly if something happens he should tell the people that went through the exact same trial as him, the people also in green, but...
It's unpleasant to think about. He'd rather it be a case where nothing else happens. ]
