[The school is empty. The school is quiet. The only sound that cuts through the silence is the soft ticking of the hallway clocks that mark the passing of each second.]

[At least. . . until a stiff breeze whips through the classrooms, scattering dirty papers and jerking the curtains aside. The clock strikes 6:00 a.m.]
[The school bell chimes.]

But this man is far closer in age to Cid or Barret, though it's the star on his uniform that draws her attention.
She has one too, except hers says: "Keeper of the keys."
Curious as she is, he looks a little disoriented, so she reaches out to place a hand on his upper arm to steady him. ]

Her touch makes him straighten by default, a bit stiffly — this is less because he is a Victorian, and more because he is Sherlock Holmes, and while he doesn’t shrug her away, he does hasten his step.
Though also taps a finger against his star.]

She does notice the stiffness and pulls her hand away almost immediately. He seems to be all right, if a bit gruff. Maybe because of how he's been giving a shame star. Whoops... ]
Yeah, that's what I mean. How do you try and outsmart a ghost, anyway?

We hardly knew it was a ghost as the time. Only a disembodied voice asking so-sweetly for a name.
So we gave it fake ones in turn. To see what might happen.

Either way, Tifa doesn't like the confirmation that the voice was in fact a ghost, and her face pales for a moment before she shoves it away. They're not being haunted right now, at least, and she needs to try and get over it so she isn't a liability to the other people here. ]
Yeah, and then it got less and less sweet, huh? [ She shakes her head. ] That's... interesting, though. It means it knew, somehow, that the names you gave weren't the right ones.

[A strained smile at her thinking lining up with his own, though it's there and gone in a flash.]
Which also implies that it attempted to use them in some way, and upon seeing that this did not work, it realized that the names we gave were false.
[So, their names really are of value. It's good no one was foolish enough to give them away.]

The question is what it can do with them, but I'm pretty sure we can assume it's not for anything good.
[ It seems like Usagi's instincts had been correct about all that, even if it's a concept that had been brand new to Tifa personally. ]
