She drops the defensive stance, raising both hands up placatingly.]
Wait! Wait, sorry, I thought— [Her cheeks flush a little.] I thought that thing was still after me.
no subject
It's alright — I thought you might just want some space, that's all...
[ But since she's not telling her to go away, she guesses it's fine for her to linger? even if she's doing so a little tentatively. ]
I still feel that way, too.
[ That there's something after them. ]

She's pretty sure she doesn't want to be alone though, even if every person here is no more than a stranger to her. She lets her hands fall back to her sides, but she can't quite shake the tension from her shoulders.]
...Yeah. That was some seriously messed up stuff going on in that room. Feel like it could come back at any moment.
no subject
[ That thing. She's sure of it. In that sense, they're just being kept in a cage to be played with. Mizi is used to great imbalance of power like that; in her life, she's always the one that can be crushed, not the crusher. Being here isn't so different. But the devil she knows would be better than the one she doesn't.
Speaking of messed up stuff, she brushes some of her hair out of her face, which is still spider-goo laden. ]
Were you able to find it? That "key."
no subject
Her expression does sour a little at the mention of the key, though. Felt like they were being distracted by a wild goose chase while the real threat swooped in on them.]
No. Honestly, I'm kinda convinced there wasn't any key at all in there. That whole thing was mind game city.
no subject
...At the end, we started thinking the same thing.
[ That there was no key, that it had all been a ruse. ]
They just wanted to watch us be scared.

[She's seen it all before. The capacity to be cruel, to use others like objects, to control every aspect of people's lives for their own satisfaction and greed. The way they'd all just been played with fits right into the pattern.]
no subject
It wouldn't surprise me... if this was just for their entertainment.
[ There doesn't seem to be any bigger obvious reason why they need them here — whether for food, materials, or something like that. That's where her mind goes to first. ]
Did you recognize it? The "monster." It looked so much like a human, but huge...
no subject
Not that it still isn't possible if this is all just a sick game to them. But it just makes it feel deeply unfair. As if life wasn't hard enough as it is.
If she closes her eyes, she can still see that thing rushing for the window of that classroom. Practically sends a chill down her spine. Her gaze lowers to the floor and she shakes her head.]
Nah. Never seen it before. Somehow it looking kinda human makes it even freakier, if I'm being honest. Kinda wonder... what if it was human once?
[She wants to say it seems outlandish, but, well. All of this does.]
no subject
Maybe it's been experimented on...
[ Forced to grow large? Or trained to be hostile? Unfamiliar with the idea of ghosts and spirits, that's the explanation she conjures to make the puzzle pieces fit. She's sure any person that was tampered with to that extent would go mad, too, though she's not sure what that has to do with the rest of the details of their captivity. ]
Or... maybe it's only partially human.
no subject
It's bad news either way.
[Whatever it is, it's clearly hostile. And, as the both seem to be in agreement on, it's likely still out there.]
We'll have to figure out a way to defend against it. I don't want to let it get the drop on us again.
