[The school is empty. The school is quiet. The only sound that cuts through the silence is the soft ticking of the hallway clocks that mark the passing of each second.]
[. . .]
[At least. . . until a stiff breeze whips through the classrooms, scattering dirty papers and jerking the curtains aside. The clock strikes 6:00 a.m.]
[The school bell chimes.]

[ she says that, but as soon as tifa touches her she can feel yuffie's emotions: which is a large dose of fear, hidden by bravado. yuffie does not realize this has happened, for the record, and grips tifa in turn, in that slightly clingy way she does ]
[ her legs are bloody and have been bandaged, but otherwise she seems fine ]
Were you in a creepy classroom that was ripped to shreds? Like, literally?

... Yeah, I was. We thought maybe there were others since the yearbook was so small, but I tried knocking on the wall and didn't hear anything back.
[ Which doesn't make sense. Surely all these rooms were next to each other...?
What she might or might not be feeling from Yuffie only spurs Tifa to do what she wanted to do anyway, though, which is give her a big hug. It should make both of them feel a little better, she hopes. ]

We did too, and we didn't hear anything! Were those rooms just really soundproofed or something? What the hell's up with that?

[ Not that she knows much about schools like this, given that she grew up in a small country village, but you know.
She sighs and nods, drawing back as she tries to bury down all of her feelings of concern about what it means that they're here. ]
I was in the middle of the Cetra's trial and then suddenly I was just... in that room. Was it the same for you?

It's super duper haunted, for starters. I have no idea why we'd be kidnapped to a school, of all places.

I finished my trial. We were continuing on in the temple, then... just in the room. Super weird.

But why did they have to be taken someplace haunted? Tifa could punch monsters all day long, but she hates this. ]
There are definitely a few people here who are too old to be in school, too. [ One of her teammates had even been bemoaning having to go back.
Any thoughts of that are chased away when Yuffie mentions the trial, though. Tifa's eyes widen and she grabs Yuffie's wrists. Not more emotion share— ] Wait, really? Was I there after you finished your trial?
[ And if so, why doesn't she remember that? ]

Besides, she's busy trying to figure out how to explain what keeps happening when they make physical contact. ]

Huh... that's so weird. Did you come across anything like this with the other people in your group?
[ She's just going to slide right past the question of whether or not Yuffie's scared. Tifa certainly has lost her cool a number of times here already because this has been scary, but there's not much point in arguing about it with a teenager. ]
