First Day of School... Again
Who: Amelia and Others
When: September 23rd, daylight hours
Where: All around the school
What: Exploring, getting acquainted, and getting spooked
Warnings: None for now, will be added.
[There's a new Yakuyoke student who has gotten past waking up in a classroom and reading the warning on the blackboard.
Duly noted. This probably couldn't be the worst first day of school she's ever had...]
((OOC: See prompts below! They'll be real brief or you can wildcard with Amelia NP.))

When approached, she'll gruffly say:]
Don't ask.
[
she tripped from being chased by the scarier ghosts]no subject
Do you need a hand?
no subject
If you don't mind.
[She'll at least push herself up first before accepting the help, making some of the nekomata scatter, but a couple lingering around, some rubbing up against not just her, but her new helper as well.]
Are these particular ghosts always this affectionate?
no subject
Yes. Furthermore, touching them compels you to seek contact with someone else.
[It gives him dreadful anxiety. Thankfully, they don't have to worry about that.]
no subject
[She accepts his hand and it gives her a start; his emotions are calm, but the sensation is still alarming enough for her to immediately pull away once she's on her feet.]
Is that also supposed to happen??
no subject
Did you feel that?
[His hand lowers to his side.]
My apologies. It does not always happen, but the students of my class are capable of transmitting emotions through touch.

Do you have any boxed mac n' cheese?
no subject
Hm. Purple. Yakuyoke, then?
... ]
Boxed?
no subject
Yes. Boxed.
It's good in a pinch.
[teacher stash and all that]
no subject
We've only recently gained this kitchen, and with ingredients far better than what was available than before — you can do better than "boxed" now, you know.
[He cannot even imagine what "boxed" casserole ingredients must taste like good lord]
no subject
It's really quick to make and easy to add things to make it tastier.
no subject
No doubt that is the case. However, you are a new arrival, are you not? Are you already expecting your meals to skew on the side of "quick and easy"?
[Everyone here is so tired of quick and easy meals. Please. The real food is a nice change of pace.]

... Would mac n'cheese provide any nutritional value for you and your wings?
[yeah this is her]
Ah, well no matter. Your uniform; Yakuyoke, yes?
no subject
Um‐yes... Yes, that's right. Did you just arrive?
no subject
I did. I've been taking my time to explore the school, keeping the important messages on the bulletin board in mind.
[She sounds very matter-of-fact, not entirely untroubled, but still calm about the whole situation.]
The layout of this building is unfamiliar to me so understanding where things are is my first priority. Well, other then seeing who else is here.

📚 library
That said, the stack she has is quite sizable, but now there's a different problem...]
Do you happen to have a pen or pencil? I need to sign the cards. And I feel as if something bad will happen if I don't do so.
no subject
Sorry, lady dude, they took all my fuckin' quills when I got here. I've been borrowin' from everybody else since...
Can you even read all those?
no subject
Of course I can. If I am to remain here for whatever duration of time, I might as well read.
no subject
no subject
If anything, I'm most interested in books from other worlds. I could probably spend most of my time here looking for those, at least until we need to be back in our dorms.

Does she have a pen? Please.
Cadence has been using a scrap of rolled cloth as a makeshift pen case. Though there's nothing as nice as the fountain pen she's used to using in there, Amelia can have her choice of writing utensils from ballpoint to brush.]
Take your pick. I've only got black ink, though. Anything worth writing is worth writing boldly and permanently. [And also the ghosts seem to like writing in red.
It's blood.]no subject
[Amelia can safely assumed, based on the purple uniform, she's met another Yakuyoke, yay. She looks at her choices of writing instruments and while her eye is drawn to the brush pen, she chooses the ballpoint.]
I can't say I'm choosy about the ink color, but I don't know if the ghosts are.
no subject
[In short: The ghosts are little punks, and by this point, she's sort of reached the end of her patience with them.]
You have to be Yakuyoke, right? There haven't been that many of us lately. [She's already confirmed her suspicions about Brisa, which feels like a terribly bitter pill to swallow.]
no subject
[Amelia nods as she clicks the pen and starts filling in her cards on the table.]
I saw that the other student "graduated."
[There's a pause.]
Let's hope all of the graduates are fine.
