First Day of School... Again
Who: Amelia and Others
When: September 23rd, daylight hours
Where: All around the school
What: Exploring, getting acquainted, and getting spooked
Warnings: None for now, will be added.
[There's a new Yakuyoke student who has gotten past waking up in a classroom and reading the warning on the blackboard.
Duly noted. This probably couldn't be the worst first day of school she's ever had...]
((OOC: See prompts below! They'll be real brief or you can wildcard with Amelia NP.))

[The elf-man looks a little rough around the edges, but she can't really be bothered by that when he shows interest in books.]
I can't say I'd be able to recognize "goblin" language when I see it, but I did make a pile of the books I wasn't able to decipher on one of the tables.
...
...
I should probably clean it up before some ghost gets angry about it.
[she has a spook friend that lives at her local library, she would know]

[he is looking for that stack with some eagerness]
It's easy to know goblin when ya see it, they use this weird special mark...

[There's so much to figure out and no magic of her own to deal with it. But it seems like it'll be ok to just focus on small things for now, so Amelia points him to the stack at a nearby table.]
We can look through those and you tell me which one has the goblin language.

[Books!!!!! He is just going to pick up the first one, crack it open right in the middle, and see what he sees. Then close the book and start a new Confirmed Goblin-Free pile]
If there's one here, I'll totally find it.

[She'll take another book, look at it, pass it to him to confirm.]
Is it safe to assume you've been here a while, or at least long enough to find out what happens when given a true name? But otherwise, it's possible to "graduate."
[She saw that school lobby and its portraits; spooky and ominous, that's for sure.]

[He is nodding along! Another book, another look, another for the Can't Read It Pile]
Been here for a couple of fucking months now. Since day one, I think? The graduation shit didn't start for a little while. And it's more like, those dudes just fuckin' disappeared into thin air. No hints of where or what the fuck.

Well, pleased to make your acquaintance, Magus. I'll call myself, Briar Rose for now.
no subject
Another Rose, huh? Nice.

[Either way, it probably won't be a huge deal. In regards to their search, she frowns at the books they've looked through so far.]
No luck with these yet. It's really is a lot of gibberish unless you're really willing to put in the work to find something legible.
[And she's studied all kinds of magic that required an otherworldly language set, but there's nothing useful here.]

[He sighs a little, shaking his head]
Yeah, it sucks. Nothing, not even in Elvish. This isn't much of a fuckin' library.

[Holds up a generic looking vacation romance book that takes place on a cruise ship.]
It's not riveting but, not everything has to be deep. I'm hoping to find some older classics down the line, maybe even literature pertaining to the culture of this school.

What was in the goblin journal if you don't mind me asking? I'd like to know, regardless if it was informative or not.

Does that imply that a goblin was a student here at some point? I don't think I noticed a graduate image of one in the lobby.

[Truly, what a mysterious school.]
It's as you say, Magus; it doesn't sound like the book was going to be of any help to us and that might go for the library's collection until we find out otherwise.
no subject
But it means there could be more. Maybe some dude they were fuckin' after left somethin' useful behind.
no subject
Well, we'll have to leave that to the side for now.
Your class, you're... Kai'Un? [He has no shirt, but thank god there are pants]
