[The school is empty. The school is quiet. The only sound that cuts through the silence is the soft ticking of the hallway clocks that mark the passing of each second.]

[At least. . . until a stiff breeze whips through the classrooms, scattering dirty papers and jerking the curtains aside. The clock strikes 6:00 a.m.]

[unfortunate but true. they have nothing but blind guesswork to go on right now...]

There was a journal in our classroom as well, belonging to one named 'Kenkou'. I'm certain we all had one. Did you not find the penmanship to be similar?

"Health" . . . ?

Ours belonged to someone called Shiawase. The penmanship in the journal matched the writings on the board.

[...?]

Yes, how did you know that there was a prayer for good health on our journal?

[i dont speak japanese,]

Hm?

Ah, I did not know. There are other meanings, but I am familiar with the language of these words.

Do you hail from the same land? Then, I assume Shiawase also holds some secret meaning.

Unless there's another hidden meaning, shiawase stands for happiness; however, that is all I know.

[Are they from the same land? Who are they, anyway?]

Then they are not the names of their author, but rather... aspirational? Health and happiness are quite common things to pray for.

Are they? Then . . . perhaps they are aliases as well.

Yes, that would track...

How strange. When the message on the board changed, it is as though they were in the room with as, like a guardian spirit. To think, that even a spirit might fear its true name being revealed.

A spirit . . . It is almost as if they, too, are trapped with us. But what use could the voice have for mere names?

Names, apparently, hold great weight and power in spiritual matters. At least, this is what I've been told by one of the young women in my room. As she has more experience in the matter than I, I'm inclined to believe her wisdom.

Someone in mine said something similar. They were stories of supernatural entities who gain power over the soul, though.
