[physical education 101]
Who: transfer students
When: July 1̷̝̤̳̙̫̭̻̝͓̄̇̾̀̕͝9̸̙̱̹͍̮̈́́̀̅͛̐̔̋ 20
Where: the. . . gymnasium?
What: an ice breaker
Warnings: moderate physical injury (not debilitating), psychological horror (absolutely debilitating)
[The school is empty. The school is quiet. The only sound that cuts through the silence is the soft ticking of the hallway clocks that mark the passing of each second.]
[. . .]
[At least. . . until a stiff breeze whips through the classrooms, scattering dirty papers and jerking the curtains aside. The clock strikes 6:00 a.m.]
[The school bell chimes.]

let's out a--not relieved, but less tense breath]
I think we might be in for a bad time.
no subject
[. . .]
Where did it get you the worst?
[he doesn't have bandages, but the white t-shirt underneath his track suit will do. give him a second as he shrugs off his jacket]
no subject
Mostly my wrists and arms. . .lucky none if it decided to dig into my neck. So, I'm good to move.
no subject
Is it really that surprising?? Do I really look that young?
[t-shirt comes off, jacket goes back on, and. . . ! he starts tearing a few long strips of cotton from the flimsy fabric]

[gestures. give wrists! so he may start wrapping them with makeshift bandages!!]
I might be an adult, but I think you and Mocha are pretty capable. I won't coddle if you if you don't want to be coddled.
no subject
Coddling wouldn't help anyone even if we were afraid. This is the kind of situation where everyone needs to work together.
no subject
I think we did pretty well, for a bunch of strangers. [hah] Even if it didn't. . . work out perfectly for us in the end.
[they're alive! and that's all that matters!]
no subject
Anything that ends with us still alive is a win in my book. I think we work well together. . .good thing too, since we'll probably be stuck together for a while.
no subject
That's going to make the "what do we call each other" issue all the more pressing. Though I guess you and Mocha have that one figured out.

[once he is done tying up his makeshift bandages, he pulls back, giving Macchi's arm firm pat (. . . away from the cuts so it doesn't hurt)]
Maybe it's the decisiveness of youth.
no subject
Elders would call it laziness.
Thanks for patching me up.
no subject
Anytime.
[though he hopes this is the ONLY time despite his realistic side knowing that it probably isn't]
. . . now that we're free, we should probably take a look around.
no subject
If this is a real school, it should have all the standard amenities. Whether we can actually access them all is another story.
no subject
Mocha's pretty hungry, so we should try to find something to eat first. [. . .] . . . I could go for a hot meal myself, too.

no subject
[but literally anything sounds good right now, so!]
. . . aaah, it's going to be hard to get a good cup of coffee around here too, isn't it?
no subject
[sorry, he has to cover his mouth for a small laugh]
no subject
It's the little things, okay! Small comforts can make a huge difference!
no subject
It's good to have little things that make you happy.

[HE WILL NOT CORRUPT THE YOUTH]
My "brand."
[help]
What's my brand, from your perspective?
no subject
How's that?
no subject
You're pretty close. I've never been a barista, but I am currently traveling the world to taste coffee around the globe.
[PROUD. it's his li'l hobby. . . something he excels in. . .]

[Rantaro is high school/college aged WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR FREE TIME, MR ADULT]
