[physical education 101]
Who: transfer students
When: July 1̷̝̤̳̙̫̭̻̝͓̄̇̾̀̕͝9̸̙̱̹͍̮̈́́̀̅͛̐̔̋ 20
Where: the. . . gymnasium?
What: an ice breaker
Warnings: moderate physical injury (not debilitating), psychological horror (absolutely debilitating)
[The school is empty. The school is quiet. The only sound that cuts through the silence is the soft ticking of the hallway clocks that mark the passing of each second.]
[. . .]
[At least. . . until a stiff breeze whips through the classrooms, scattering dirty papers and jerking the curtains aside. The clock strikes 6:00 a.m.]
[The school bell chimes.]

no subject
[She scowls.]
You're an adult, right? Get yourself cleaned up before you worry everyone else even more.
1/2
[is he being scolded by a teenage girl???]
no subject
That was the plan.
[his bloodied hands fall away from his wrist as he starts to stand. also giving her a concerned once-over, looking for any signs of blood or gashes]
Are you okay?
no subject
She's bloody as well, of course, track suit cut up in places, blood staining the cut areas a darker brownish red compared to the lighter red of the fabric.
And she is absolutely squinting at him like she needs the combination of his lips and his words to be positive of what he said.]
No. Obviously.
[Well, okay.]
But I'm dealing with it.
no subject
Are you?
[he doesn't ask that question out of disbelief. if she is over here scolding him, then yeah. she's dealing with it. he mostly asks because. . .]
. . . because if so, then. . . good.
But if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask.
[as an adult, that's his responsibility!]
no subject
[SORRY, EDAMURA.]
no subject
. . . you know what, that's a good idea.
[haha. . .]
You guys managed to escape before that. . . thing. . . got you, right?
no subject
Honestly, I--I thought everyone did. Otherwise, wouldn't that... thing have gotten them?
no subject
It got us.
[and yet. . .]
. . . teacher's podium, right? We didn't think to check there.
no subject
O... oh.
[Uh.]
Glad... you're still with us... [???]
But, uh. Yeah. That was it. Sensei found it there.
no subject
Thanks, I am too.
[HAH. . .]
Honestly, in hindsight it's the most obvious place to look. Who always has the keys to the classroom. . .?
[SENSEI DOES]
no subject
[Said dourly. They got it, but only barely........ she can still barely hear him over the tinnitus.]
Let's get out of here before we get hit with any more "obvious" riddles.
no subject
[he starts to move, but--]
[then he freezes in place, gaze swiveling to the side, entire body freezing. LIKE A DEER CAUGHT IN HEADLIGHTS]
no subject
And shifts her gaze slowly that way, a chill running down her spine.
And there is nothing there.]
... Hey, that's not funny.
no subject
I'm sorry, I just-- [. . .] I thought I saw something.
[. . . maybe he's still jumpy about what just happened]
no subject
You're so cursed.
1/2
Of course I'm cursed! That stupid thing broke through the window and flooded the room with weird thread! I thought we were done for!!
no subject
Being a little cursed is better than the alternative, I guess.
no subject
[She scoots... away, a little.]
Just don't get too close and curse me too.
no subject
Believe me when I say I have no intention of passing this on to anyone else. Are curses contagious?
no subject
no subject
. . . neither did I! Amidst everything else that happened, I'm kind of having my entire worldview upended!
[DEEP SIGH AS HE SLUMPS]
I'd rather keep denying it, but. . .
no subject
[She slumps too.]
no subject
[. . .]
[quietly]
. . . it's a little too much, isn't it?
no subject
[She says, arms crossed, hunched small, voice trembling as it is all Too Much.]
