[The school is empty. The school is quiet. The only sound that cuts through the silence is the soft ticking of the hallway clocks that mark the passing of each second.]

[At least. . . until a stiff breeze whips through the classrooms, scattering dirty papers and jerking the curtains aside. The clock strikes 6:00 a.m.]

Hoshimi suggested 'Azure' as a name, and I'm amenable to it. Blue is quite a significant colour for me.

Even at the Officer's Academy, I was head of the Blue Lions house - as its students hail from Faerghus. I'm-- really quite eager to return to my duties there.

Oh! "Azure" is nice. I'm not really sure what being part of a house is, but it sounds pretty official!

[ Truly she is a country bumpkin at heart, but she's already gathered their worlds are wildly different from each other.

With a sigh, though, she places a hand over her heart. ]

[ So, with that, she gives a nod and a gesture forward with her hand. ]

Yes. Scouting this school must be a priority going forward. We're in desperate need of supplies, especially medicinal.

The houses are nothing more than a formality, but when you have students from all across the continent, they're more likely to find ease among those of similar backgrounds. That's not to say you can't change houses, should you favour the curriculum of a different professor.

Not to pry, but may I ask what you were in the middle of?

[ Supplies, yes, and food as well, but Tifa also wants to see if there's any clues for how they can get back. It sounds like Azure feels the same on that point, so.

Oh, so you're put into a house based on where you're from? I guess that's kinda like how they split us into groups now?

[ Except she and Yuffie are in different groups...

As for that next question, she glances away for a moment. ] I don't mind telling you, but it's kind of a long story... and might seem a little unbelievable.

Yes. Historically, our nations have been at odds many times - and the Houses do reflect a modicum of that same rivalry. Competitions are often held to test our skills against each other, often mock battles.

[hmm sure hope this doesn't foreshadow anything to come in the future.]

Considering all we've been through today... I struggle to think of anything that would strain belief anymore.

[ Mock battles? Competitions? It all sounds harmless enough, though Tifa can't help but find it strange that it's based around actual conflicts that unfolded in the nation's past. Huh... ]

If that's the case, you'd think me and Rose would be in the same class...

Perhaps the tale can wait until we've found some shelter, and you've had a moment to rest. I wouldn't want to tax you so soon after such a terrible experience.

Oh, um! It's not that it's taxing, more just that I need to figure out how to explain everything to someone who isn't from Gaia, you know?
