[The school is empty. The school is quiet. The only sound that cuts through the silence is the soft ticking of the hallway clocks that mark the passing of each second.]

[At least. . . until a stiff breeze whips through the classrooms, scattering dirty papers and jerking the curtains aside. The clock strikes 6:00 a.m.]
[The school bell chimes.]

Not a terrible thing to try, even if it clearly didn't get you anywhere. Other than the star you earned, what happened?

We sought the key. Where the shoes were kept, as I suspected it would be hidden away somewhere mundane, and not amid the more ghastly additions. But then we did seek within a doll, which was where we wasted our time.
[He should not have deviated from his initial instinct. If he hadn't, maybe they would've found the key.]
Then we searched the clock, which led to a particularly loud failure, and then that— Ghost, I suppose. Set its strings upon us, until we were engulfed completely. Is that not what happened to your group?

More or less. We checked the doll, the strings, and the supply closet. Plus there were spiders.
We also thought we'd stand a chance if we mounted a defense with some makeshift weapons. It didn't work.
