Re: [ENDGAME]
... Thank you, for everything you did in there. I'm sorry I couldn't do more. ... Just looking at marionette strings and the like... it hurts. I lost my composure.
Re: [ENDGAME]
There is nothing for you to apologize for. It's only natural to be overwhelmed in such circumstances. Each of us have our strengths and weaknesses - it is no sin to rely on others when your own ability falls short.
Re: [ENDGAME]
...
she smiles. )
I'm sorry for worrying you, still. Let's see what we can do for the others, but- I want you to take a rest for a moment, okay? You seemed out of it before I came over.
Re: [ENDGAME]
I merely needed to catch my breath - I'm all right now. Now that we're able, we need to search for the school medical office as swiftly as possible. There are more people in need than we had even imagined.
Re: [ENDGAME]
( she'll lead the way, though looking at all the bloodied people hurts in her chest- )
Re: [ENDGAME]
An auditorium... is this common for schools of this make?
Re: [ENDGAME]
( down the hall, which is just as eerie as everything else. please let her be right- oh, the cafeteria. )
We should stop here, too...
Re: [ENDGAME]
[a pause.]
The cafeteria... do you smell that?
[his sense of taste might be gone, but smell still remains. And he definitely smells food. Dinner?]
Re: [ENDGAME]
( she does. does that mean others are here? staff, or something? )
Maybe we should see if we can bring anything to- ... wherever we're staying...?
Re: [ENDGAME]
We should first locate where the dormitories are, or we may be wandering with armfuls of food aimlessly.
But if meals are being prepared, does that mean there are other people here?
Re: [ENDGAME]
... Maybe one of us should stay here, just in case- to gather things, too. And the other can find our... residence. We don't know how much longer we have for it to stay open...
Re: [ENDGAME]
I'll remain here, then. It seems my strength has returned to me, and I'm quite adept at carrying heavy loads.
Re: [ENDGAME]
( and now they do the worst thing: they split the party. goodbye dimitri she is running off! )
Re: [ENDGAME]
Surely it all tastes fine.
He'll be inspecting these mystery boxes that claim to have milk and juice in them when Mafuyu returns]
Re: [ENDGAME]
Azure! I found them. Several dorms. It's this way- ah.
( let her take a couple trays- )
... This must be a public school.
( MAFUYU )
Re: [ENDGAME]
A public school? You mean, for commoners?
[spoken like this is a shocking concept waaah?]
Re: [ENDGAME]
Re: [ENDGAME]
And anyone, no matter how poor, is allowed to enroll here? ...I wonder how such a program was funded.
Re: [ENDGAME]
For the youngest age brackets, its compulsory but the government pays for it. Middles school and upward requires fees from the student families and passing entrance exams.
I attend a private school, giving my education standards a higher quality, and it's closed to girls only. Public schools would cost less, have lower standards and... not as great supplies, while being more accessible to lower income families. However, after a certain point, it's no longer required... but society treats teens not pursuing their education poorly.
Re: [ENDGAME]
But, it's a common view among commoners that education beyond basic reading and writing is unnecessary - for them, there is a greater need to have their children begin an apprenticeship, or start at their family's business. To think it could come to a point where not pursuing education into the teenaged years could be seen as blemish.
Re: [ENDGAME]
( she takes a turn, and at the center of a hallway is an entrance that looks... different from the rest. a glass hallway, showing outside. )
This way.
Re: [ENDGAME]
Medical school... that's quite admirable! But what was it that made you reconsider?
Re: [ENDGAME]
( mafuyu inhales slowly, trying to keep her voice even. )
It wasn't my choice.
It's a wonderful path, but- I... wanted something different, when I was younger. It took me a lot to remember that.
( the hallway leads to seven different doors, all color coded. )
Re: [ENDGAME]
[there's a pause, as he considers the meaning behind her words. perhaps it was with the help of her friends, that she remembered her true wish...]
People oft lose sight of the things they once truly wished for. The world can be harsh to one's young dreams.
...I'm glad that you were able to remember what path it was you once wished to tread. No doubt your friends had a hand in that, as well.
[coming to a stop before the doors,]
Huh. One of these colours seems awfully familiar, don't you think?
Re: [ENDGAME]
( how do you convey how precious, how important someone is to another without revealing that they saved you from yourself, gave you light to look to in the dark, a rope to hold onto?
without oversharing on the first day you know each other, that is.
oh hey he found the dorm, yay c: )
That's what I was thinking, yes!
( ... they'll have to do the fun little song and dance of trying to open a door with arms full- )
