[physical education 101]
Who: transfer students
When: July 1̷̝̤̳̙̫̭̻̝͓̄̇̾̀̕͝9̸̙̱̹͍̮̈́́̀̅͛̐̔̋ 20
Where: the. . . gymnasium?
What: an ice breaker
Warnings: moderate physical injury (not debilitating), psychological horror (absolutely debilitating)
[The school is empty. The school is quiet. The only sound that cuts through the silence is the soft ticking of the hallway clocks that mark the passing of each second.]
[. . .]
[At least. . . until a stiff breeze whips through the classrooms, scattering dirty papers and jerking the curtains aside. The clock strikes 6:00 a.m.]
[The school bell chimes.]

--it's quite dangerous... to approach a Beyonder in this condition, for the record.
[steadier than before. and actually, speaking helps with the getting self to focus.]
no subject
Dude, I have no idea what that is.
[LIGHTLY AMUSED. squeezing this guy's shoulder, noting how the tension eases with the contact]
And after what I've just been through, I don't think I care.
no subject
Haa... ha. Yes, that was quite a lot.
[SO MANY PERSONAL TRIGGERS ALL AT ONCE.
but he's scrubbing his hand at his face like he's making sure his face is back on--it is. no more squirmy things, anyway.]
no subject
. . . pulled yourself together again?
no subject
[not even fighting the curse on that one. quite literally, even. sighs heavily and shakily.]
I was honestly expecting to die.
no subject
Well, you didn't.
. . . and here we are.
no subject
[said so dryly, but looking to him.
more seriously:]
... in the future, if I'm in an even worse state, please don't approach so carelessly? I'd rather not kill someone if I were to lose control...
no subject
Why is that even a possibility???
no subject
It's a hazard of choosing to drink the potions of the Beyonder Pathways.
[anyway, he's gonna. get to his feet. still VERY shaky. damn. the PTSDs were that bad...]
no subject
Dude. . .
I don't know what those words mean when put together in that order.
[and he would LIKE to ask but he is a little!! stressed out right now!!]
no subject
I drank magic potions to get power. The drawbacks are constantly having to guard against the possibility of going insane and losing control.
It's not a difficult concept to grasp.
1/2
It's not when you put it like that! But not everyone here knows what a "Beyonder" is, or what "Beyonder Pathways" mean.
[A LITTLE HUFFY]
no subject
. . . but I'll be more cautious next time.
[he hopes there isn't a next time]
no subject
[but. he didn't plan for the events they'd just gone through, either.]
no subject
Glad you're okay despite. . . whatever that was.
[he won't ask about it. he isn't sure he wants to know]
. . . no key?
no subject
[didn't work.
actually, neck wounds are annoying.
gonna swipe that cut down to his arm where it's easier to take care of. literally just moving his hand from his neck down to his right wrist where there's already a cut and now there are two cuts there and none on his neck.]
no subject
[. . .]
[dips his hand into his pockets to pull out a few scraps of cloth]
Teacher's podium. Or so I heard.
. . . give me your wrist.
[and also-- what the hell did you just do? but he's too tired to be incredulous about things that don't make sense to him right now]
no subject
[muttered because can't stop himself from saying it, stupid curse.
but also good on not saying anything because he would lampoon so hard. he just mentioned magic potions, my guy. as it is, he just looks a little wary (too tired to be paranoid) before offering over his wrist.]
... we refused to give our names, but did come up with aliases to go by in the meantime.
no subject
Yeah, so did we. Though I don't think most of us plan on sticking to those aliases in the long term.
. . . did you wind up giving the thing your aliases instead?
no subject
no subject
It could tell the aliases weren't our real names. Kind of think we may have pissed it off even more by trying to be a bunch of smart alecks.
[taps the gold star sticker on his track suit]
no subject
I don't think I'd even risk using names from before here even outside of that room.
no subject
. . . yeah. I don't think we should, either.
[a small huff]
Not that we know what would happen if we did.
no subject
[looking at the bandaging.]
... Miskatonic Smith.
no subject
. . . "Miskatonic" is a new one. Where'd that come from?
