My apologies. Must have been the light...
no subject
No. What do you see?
no subject
A spider, but rest assured — nothing more than these tired eyes playing tricks on me, haha.
no subject
You met it, too.
[ and what unique eyes they are! but she's gone quite still, now. she! doesn't! want this! ]
That thing at window.

"Met" might be a little too generous, wouldn't you say? At least I, for one, was all wound up before I got a good look at the beast.
[ He's not sure if that makes it better or worse. ]

I had screaming girl on one side, screaming clock on another. Mammon...

Let's...move on, shall we? It's all behind us, now. You can call me Garnet, from team Kai-un.
no subject
ah. she understands. kai-un, and she was locked in with kin'un. this will be interesting. ]
Ms Fairplay. Kin'un homeroom, no relation. Perhaps.
no subject
Indulge me if you will, Miss Fairplay. Was there anything in your classroom related to this Kin'un? For instance, we found a journal that appears to have been written by Kai-un in ours.
no subject
... Reading what?
no subject
In ours, Kai-un related a brief but rather unfortunate tale of distinctly bad luck. Toe-stubbing, running into glass windows, that sort of thing. Yours?

What if there had been an essential clue in there?

[ no! she hates this!
hunches forward where she sits, her thumb with that little divot in the nail making its way between her teeth. she bites down slightly, gaze affixed to the flicker of web strands just behind him.
if she has missed something critical, something so apparent, over her concerns for a feral young woman and a man unable to conceive of the mere thought of magic... it will burn in her forever. unforgivable oversight for a would-be scribe. the journal—the first thing she should have dove for! ]
...I will...
[ have to find it again. ]
no subject
I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it now. The game's over, isn't it? Although...best we keep playing by the no name rule, at the very least.
[ Maybe the journals will play more of a role than they have so far, too. It's peculiar...who writes such a pointed journal entry like that, anyway? ]
no subject
with vague concern, ] You would call that "game"?
no subject
[ And that's always easier for him. To understand utterly senseless things like this as a game brings at least some familiarity and stability to it. ]
no subject
I shudder to think. Game, or "lesson"...
no subject
[ And he sounds loath to give their captors that much credit. ]
