It is sweltering outside, so when those clouds eventually open up in the early afternoon, showering everyone with cool rain, rolling thunder, and a few flashes of lightning. . . it probably feels good!]

[It seems to be normal rain, for the most part. Look at it from the wrong angle and some if it may seem to be tinted red, like blood. And sometimes, when a drop spatters against the ground, a spider lily suddenly blossoms in its place. The flower dies almost immediately upon springing to life, its petals dissolving into dust that is quickly washed away by the rest of the water]

They're dragons! 100%. But they're a flightless dragon that hunts like a wolf. They were chasing down mammoths and Megaloceros in packs! And with the size to make it happen!

Oh absolutely terrifying. Like imagine a wolf the size of a horse, but also it’s covered in spiky armored scales. And there’s five of them after you. And you haven’t invented metal tools yet.

Mercifully, I am certain my fear would be fleeting, because I would be quickly eaten soon after.

Probably! And they're extinct now, but their descendants are still pretty intimidating. They're smaller, but outrunning a wolf-sized dragon isn't easier than outrunning a horse-sized one.

No, I imagine if you are an ordinary human, you've not much of a chance against these fantastical creatures at all.
