I was also hoping to discuss any findings or theories you might have about this place. Is there anything you wouldn't mind sharing?

There's a number of points... but they're all just theories based on my own experience with spirits and gods.

Gods? Do they have something to do with this?

They may. Certainly, some entity that's powerful enough to take forty souls from different worlds and bring them here.

Then, based on your experience, what theories might you have about such an entity's intentions?

... a ritual.

A feeding.

Something else.

Those are the options that I'm aware of that this could potentially be. There would have been a ritual to bring us all here--which may or may not include what we experienced when we woke here initially. But this whole situation could be a rather large ritual in and of itself.

As for the feeding... it could be anything from literal eating... to feeding off of emotions, energies, and the like. The curses and the marks on us and the need for a protective charm does make me think more along these lines. When we're without the protective charms, our mentalities devolve and paranoia and fear increase, as has already been exhibited.

The curses could be the mark of the spirits of the different "classrooms" sign of ownership or even protection of us. Consequences of a "contract", possibly. And the contract... could be the reason why we have those markings.

[After listening raptly, he nods. A mark of contract makes a certain amount of sense. As for what preceded it, though . . . ]

Ah. The youngest of our group, Naoto, left his omamori off himself for a few days.

It was good to learn, but... I do think he's still a bit embarrassed about it.

. . . Ah, is that what happened? How severe were his symptoms?

He was assaulting people in the belief that they were trying to do him harm.

[Was that inclination always there, or did an outside force induce it . . . ?]

One of ours felt ill for a few days. It seems these omamori are a necessity if we are to survive this place.

I think so. It's best to keep them on hand at all times as much as possible.

Thank you for your thoughts. If a ritual is truly responsible for our collective presence, we must uncover the details as soon as possible.

I'd actually advise against trying to be too hasty.

I understand the pressure to want to solve it quickly, but one wrong move and this all blows up in our faces more than the ones running it.

[He looses a halfway mirthful breath.]

Yes, of course. We should be efficient, yet not so hasty as to be reckless. The lives of everyone here depend on it.
