He was, right after his encounter with. . . [with what?? he was unconscious at the time, so???] . . . a train?
But Mocha and Macchi were able to save him before things got too bad.

Good thing to be in a place like this.

[a little. . . fond]
. . . the other members of my class are all way tougher than me. But that makes them reliable in a pinch.

What makes you say that? The first part.

I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm not exactly.. .
[he trails off]
A fighter.

[accepts this rudely fast]

I can accept that I'm tough in other ways, though. Not everyone is built to fight.

What do you consider your strengths instead, then?

[also he blinks a few times, because?? he has never been asked to actually think about this??]
Well, I'm not a fighter, but I'm good at escaping. That might seem cowardly, but running away can save a life, so. . .
[holding up his pillow case!]
It makes me pretty good at being the supply guy.

Falling back can be an indispensable strategy in some cases, especially if you've already found what you sought.

[relieved that she gets it]
I think I'm pretty good at networking, too. Having allies is useful as well, isn't it?
no subject
Having the right people there to help you seems like it could prevent many a problem, yes.
no subject
Ah. Are you more of a "lone wolf" type?
no subject
Lone wolf...?

So I get it.
[a tilt of his head]
You said you work in. . . trading, right?
no subject
I did.

[. . . based on own his experience!]
Do you operate independently, or. . . ?

Let me use an example. Recently, a situation arose where a particular mountain pass was more frozen than normal at a certain point in the year. A caravan holding important supplies was fairly adamant that they couldn't make it through until the road thawed slightly. My role there was more to either assist in finding an alternate route, or ensure that those in charge of transporting the supplies understood the consequences of their failure. I wouldn't consider it teamwork to tell people what's going to happen.

That. . . sounds vaguely threatening, actually??
