[August 3 stars off. . . weird.]

[The morning bell chimes at 6 a.m., as it usually does! But there appears to be a very thin layer of fog settled against the ground outside. Some of it seeps into the school's hallways, before dissipating in a few wisps of haze. Weird??]

[As the day goes on, you feel like you can hear strange whispers echoing in the air-- a voice, hissing the word miiiiiiiine over and over again. Also weird!]

[And by the time the afternoon hits, you may find yourself running into some very unwanted guests. You've been here two weeks, and this is the first time you're seeing these guys?? Where have they been??]

[By the way, the nurse's office is unlocked!]

[ He hesitates, not entirely certain what to do if he does encounter a ghost. Something with a tangible form he has some confidence he can fight, even if they're stronger than him, he could surely hold his own for a time.

A ghost, a real ghost which seems more likely as time goes on, that's... ]

Are we certain it intends us harm?

[ The cats, for all their slight inconvenience, were fairly harmless. ]

I didn't really stick around to find out, to be honest...

[ But Ji seems curious enough to investigate, and it makes Tifa realize yet again that she needs to suck it up and face her fears if others are going to put themselves in harm's way. ]

If you're really curious, go take a look. I'll be right behind you.

[ Ready and waiting to yank him out of harm's way, if needed. She doesn't like this, but if ghosts are going to be a commonplace thing around here, she'll have to get used to them. ]

[ It is not recommended to face as many terrifying things as Zuo Le himself is willing to face, given the boy's propensity for sticking himself in mortal danger. It's fortunate that he's had people to bail him out of it last minute as often as he has.

Sort of like how Miss Tiger Lily stopped him before he went charging head first into a ghost, so now he can at least move carefully, and ironically more quietly if that will even help him. ]

If you're unnerved by it, I won't force you to come with me.

[ Though he is still moving forward now that she's no longer holding him back. ]

It's fine. Like I said...

[ She'll be right behind him. But she trails off at this point, tensing slightly since they're approaching the bend in the hallway, meaning that soon enough they'll be able to see around the corner, where the ghost might still be waiting.

She is wound up, ready to pull Ji from danger as needed. ]

[ He seems tense as well, though it's an anticipatory kind. Rather than a defensive measure it looks like he's getting ready to go on the attack, even though he has no weapon in hand.

All he needs to do is quickly round the corner, and--

... Huh. ]

You're certain you saw one here?

[ The hallway is empty. ]

[ Tifa does actually make note of his body language, the way that he looks ready to leap into a fight. It distracts her just briefly from the lack of a ghost, which somehow creeps her out almost as much as if it had still been there. ]

... I swear. But I guess we shouldn't be surprised that they move around.

[ HEAVY SIGH. She hates it!! ]

[ He'll walk further into the hallway, frowning as he looks around for signs of anything, before turning back to her. ]

My understanding has always been they can move through things like walls anyway.

[ Zuo Le why would you just go and say that to someone freaked out by them? ]

[ Thankfully, she does seem to know this. But she does shudder in place as she folds her arms tight against her middle. ]

... Yeah, it means they can show up wherever they want, unexpectedly.

[ Shoots a glance over her shoulder, just in case. ]

[ Glancing back at her, Zuo Le hesitates for a moment, before stepping back to be slightly closer to her. He's not exorcist, and he doesn't have any sort of weapon on him right now. He's also never been someone who is particularly afraid of ghost stories, and seems ready to charge in and take one on at the first mention of someone spotting one, but he's taking a stab in the dark that a physical presence nearby might be slightly comforting. ]

There seem to be some safe areas at least.

[ Places he hasn't seen ghosts yet at any rate. ]
