[August 3 stars off. . . weird.]

[The morning bell chimes at 6 a.m., as it usually does! But there appears to be a very thin layer of fog settled against the ground outside. Some of it seeps into the school's hallways, before dissipating in a few wisps of haze. Weird??]

[As the day goes on, you feel like you can hear strange whispers echoing in the air-- a voice, hissing the word miiiiiiiine over and over again. Also weird!]

[And by the time the afternoon hits, you may find yourself running into some very unwanted guests. You've been here two weeks, and this is the first time you're seeing these guys?? Where have they been??]

[By the way, the nurse's office is unlocked!]

Oh, I would not hope for anything but good luck for you and yours from now on, madam. But perhaps I should ask, instead: how did you escape?

Styx cut a path through the monsters for us, and I used Puck's ofuda as a barrier. We ran toward a glowing light in the distance, which turned out to be this room—though I imagine you've already heard that part?

The glowing light part, no, I did not. Where did that come from, do you reckon?

Our omamoris were glowing to match, and this room—[ Makes a sweeping gesture around it. ]—appears to have some kind of protective ward over it, much like the dorms. I think it may have been our patron ghost looking out for us.

[Thinks this over.]

So it seems. I wonder if we should all be so lucky when next something like this happens — our patron spirits, sweeping in to save us when it matters the most.

One can hope. Though it would be most ideal if there is no next time, of course.

[ She is certain there will be a next time. ]

Speaking of our patron spirits, I learned a few new things about them from a friendly nurse.

Did you? Pray tell, what was it? What nurse?

[Like, a nurse from this... office?]

Why, none other than our ghostly school nurse. They communicated by means of writing on that part of the wall right there.

[ Points to a spot behind one of the cots. ]

[Eyes flicking to the wall and back to her. So, writing is a way to communicate with some of the spirits here...?]

And what did they tell you?

I was planning to write the whole conversation down at the soonest opportunity. Perhaps we could exchange notes at that time...?

Hmph. Very well. [He is impatient but he can be patient right now, because poor Anzen sure is beat up.] I will not ask too much of you after such an ordeal. When you are feeling better, perhaps you may swing by Kin'un to share what you have learnt?

[Or he will inevitably be nosy and invade Anzen again. Either or!]
