[ Knock knock, open up, there is some number of Anzens at your door.

A pretty lady in sky blue smiles and waves. ]

Good evening. Hopefully this isn't a bad time? Enough time has passed that we figured it was a good idea to check in and make proper introductions.

You'll have to forgive the lack of housewarming gift. We're a bit shorthanded at the moment, which I'm sure you can relate to.

[ From behind her peers a perfectly average guy with tousled hair dressed in sky blue slacks. He gives a friendly wave! ]

We did think about it, though.

[ GIVE BROWNIE POINTS ]

[still leveling her with a steady, even look]

You're not. . . wrong. [. . .] Just as long as you don't get lost in your own lies, right?

[ Turns her head subtly to the side so her expression is harder to see. It's times like this she really wishes she had her fan to hide it. ]

Something like that. Though if lies are all there is, I wonder if it still counts as getting lost.

[ordimame]

[. . . she understands a lot more than he thought, doesn't she?]

. . . little truths are what make the best lies, you know? There's a touch of one underneath every falsity.

[. . .]

So. . . yeah. If you've wandered so far that you can't see that anymore. . . then I'd say it counts.

[ Quiet for a moment as she turns that over in her head.


Then she finally looks back over at him, her usual smile back on her face. ]

And if it were you, how would you find your way back?

[ordimame]

[smiles right back, though there's something a bit opaque about it. very unlike his usual open and honest ones]

How would I, huh. . .

[. . .]

I suppose I'd start by forgiving myself for lying in the first place.

[tailsofwoe]

[ A soft laugh. ]

... Setting the bar high right out the gate.

[ordimame]

[a wry tilt of his lips]

A little. But setting it high means you have something to strive for.

[tilts his head towards her again]

. . . and it's okay if it takes time. [a pause, before he continues, very pointed] I'm still working on it myself.

[tailsofwoe]

[ A slight grin of her own twists her lips, and she says, lightly, teasingly: ]

Oh, I thought we were talking about you this whole time.

[ordimame]

[equally as light!]

Were we? And here I could have sworn these were all hypotheticals. . .

Come to think of it, that was the premise. How could I have forgotten?

[he kind of feels like they just bonded a little. . . in their own opaque, subtle way]

No harm done. It was a good hypothetical conversation either way.
