Invasion of the Anzens
Who: Some Anzens & you
When: July 29
Where: Dorms
What: just friendly people being good neighbors
Warnings: N/A
[ Knock knock, open up, there is some number of Anzens at your door.
A pretty lady in sky blue smiles and waves. ]
Good evening. Hopefully this isn't a bad time? Enough time has passed that we figured it was a good idea to check in and make proper introductions.
You'll have to forgive the lack of housewarming gift. We're a bit shorthanded at the moment, which I'm sure you can relate to.
[ From behind her peers a perfectly average guy with tousled hair dressed in sky blue slacks. He gives a friendly wave! ]
We did think about it, though.

It depends on the kind of fight. But I am currently limited in most of my offensive capabilities, unfortunately.
[BEING NERFED SUCKS!!!]
no subject
Let's say you weren't limited. Styx got back his ability to summon his weapon, so it is possible.
What are you capable of?
no subject
... as a Seer, I can use divination--rods, talismans, coins can be used to determine an outcome. However, in a place like this, I'd expect quite a lot of interference, so the readings may not be accurate. I can also accurately assess a person's dreams for any foreknowledge or hidden meanings. Things of that nature.
As a Clown, my physical agility is amplified. I still retain some of the sharp reflexes and intuition on balance and the like, but it's more at a human level of acrobatics. I'd usually be able to use paper substitutes--that is, I can make little persons with paper and avoid the worst--I doubt this ability would be recovered easily in a place such as this. I could also make paper into weapons--cards into throwing stars, lengths of paper into bats and such.
As a Magician...
[would you like a reaction moment or him to keep going?]

... I can jump from flame to flame within a certain range. Using it as a kind of portal, you could say. I can also use air bullets--just a simple pow! pow! [using a finger gun] And it fires like a bullet--so even when I run out of bullets for my gun, I'd still be able to have some offensive attack. Illusions, of course. Only visual, however. Wound transference--which I've already regained and have demonstrated for you. An invisible magic air tube for breathing under certain depths of water.
Faceless. Ah. I actually came with this one--or at least with one of the faces I can mold myself into. I haven't really tried any other faces yet, but I'd imagine they want me to be presentable enough, so just a single face wouldn't be too surprising. I do hope they allow some flexibility there, however. It's very difficult to maintain the necessary Act without it?
And then there's Marionettist.
[... he doesn't elaborate yet.]

[the smile fades a bit when he reaches the "Marionettist," though]
. . . cursed knowledge?

[. . .]
We can skip that one.

[okay. okay. no time to boggle about one dude's insane power levels. a deep breath in, slow breath out, as he lets that utterly insane answer sink in]
Styx is a grim reaper, so I don't know the extent of his abilities. I imagine he has quite a few, since he works for. . . [SIGHS] Death. But I know he can summon a scythe.
Mocha knows magic, but I'm not sure the extent of it, and he doesn't seem very confident in his abilities. Beyond that. . . Foxglove, Macchi and I are just normal people with nothing but our wits to protect us.
[a shrug!]
So you can see why I asked.
no subject
nods.]
It's an adjustment to get used to. Especially when coming from a world where magic is largely known as sleight of hand or "tricks".
no subject
. . . exactly.
Honestly, most everything here has blown my mind in one way or another. It's a lot for a guy to take in!
no subject
Likely, there will be more intense events that might challenge that, however. So it is good that you feel comfortable among the group you're with.
no subject
. . . but it's a good group of people. We all work pretty well together, so I have no complaints.

[. . .]
Can I ask you a personal question?
no subject
You can ask.
[he may not answer, depending.]
no subject
The Faceless. You said you came with that one. I guess it's self-explanatory— you can change your appearance to fit whatever role you need to play.
[. . .]
What was happening to you immediately after we escaped from that room?
[the. . . wiggling pieces underneath his skin. that time he had warned Puck to keep his distance, or else]
no subject
The truth is, Mr. Puck... I am not human. I have not been human for some time now. Physically, most especially.
But I was born human. I prefer to be... human.
no subject
I see.
[and he does. truly. after everything he has learned, this is something he gets. the moniker Miskatonic. . . cursed knowledge. . . the references to Lovecraft. . . perhaps he is wholly incapable of imagining what Smith's true form is underneath his mask, but Lovecraft's Outer Gods were always meant to be imperceptible. and he still gets it. he still resonates with the sentiment. the desire to be something more genuine. more true]
[. . .]
[actually, maybe he shouldn't think too hard about why that is so]
Then is this face the closest to your true self?
no subject
there is, after all.
not remembering that is folly and will lead to a breakdown of the act.
and that would mean a loss of control for certain.]
... I don't think that is entirely incorrect to say.
But I would argue... it is between this and one other face, for certain.
no subject
[. . . but Puck seems satisfied with this response]
Hm. . .
[a contemplative hum]
. . . thanks for answering. I know that was possibly a little more personal than any question I've asked thus far.
no subject
I have come to realize a few things in the past few days.
... it is far too much effort to hide the things that aren't so harmful than it is to hide the things that could be. If this much eases the mind, then I'm happy to oblige.
no subject
[leaning back in his seat, arms folded, one leg swung over the other]
That's not why I asked. My mind doesn't need to be put at ease.
But your answer helps me understand you a little better.
