A pretty lady in sky blue smiles and waves. ]

Good evening. Hopefully this isn't a bad time? Enough time has passed that we figured it was a good idea to check in and make proper introductions.

You'll have to forgive the lack of housewarming gift. We're a bit shorthanded at the moment, which I'm sure you can relate to.

[ From behind her peers a perfectly average guy with tousled hair dressed in sky blue slacks. He gives a friendly wave! ]

If by "affecting calm" you're implying I'm putting on an act, that isn't the case. So at the very least, you don't need to be concerned about that.

... there's a number of things it could potentially be.

A powerful spirit. A piece of something much larger.

Whatever it is, it could have killed us but did not. And the fact that it didn't tells me either it was ordered not to, could not because of protections something or someone else provided us with, or... we are not yet ready to be killed.

["eaten", "sacrificed"... there's many possibilities for that "killed"]

If we're simply prey, then we are not "fat" enough to eat. And I don't mean it always so literally. It could be something mental or emotional or even spiritual that has not been "fatten up" yet.

If it's for a ritual, then we may not have reached the proper requirements needed to fulfill the ritual.
