[ Knock knock, open up, there is some number of Anzens at your door.

A pretty lady in sky blue smiles and waves. ]

Good evening. Hopefully this isn't a bad time? Enough time has passed that we figured it was a good idea to check in and make proper introductions.

You'll have to forgive the lack of housewarming gift. We're a bit shorthanded at the moment, which I'm sure you can relate to.

[ From behind her peers a perfectly average guy with tousled hair dressed in sky blue slacks. He gives a friendly wave! ]

Maybe. . . [glancing over at Smith and back again] It has something to do with our omamori?

Omamori?

[she knows the object but not that name]

[digs into his pocket and holds up his own sky blue charm]

I heard one of your classmates tried to ditch his for a few days.

[darkholder]

Oh, that.

[taking hers out and looking at it]

Some kind of safety charm, then, you imagine?

[ordimame]

[dangling his between his fingers for a few moments, before he drops the charm back into his pocket]

People usually buy them for good fortune. A charm to help with a job interview, of to return home safely after a long trip. Back home, they don't have any real power.

. . . but here, they feel. . . different.

[darkholder]

[nodding]

It does seem important, somehow. I suppose it wouldn't do to test the theory too much, but you might be correct that they're keeping us safe somehow.

If that's the case. . . then I guess I'm a little grateful to whomever gave them to us.

[darkholder]

I wonder if we'll be able to meet them. The people who wrote in the journals, as well... Unless they're one and the same.

I don't know if they are. . . it seems like a safe assumption, though?

[darkholder]

Either way, I'd like to talk to them eventually if we're able.

[ordimame]

. . . Mocha wanted to communicate with "Anzen," too. I don't know if he ever tried, though.

Maybe the journals. . .?

I think Smith was going to try the same thing... I'll check and see if he received any kind of response.
