[ Knock knock, open up, there is some number of Anzens at your door.

A pretty lady in sky blue smiles and waves. ]

Good evening. Hopefully this isn't a bad time? Enough time has passed that we figured it was a good idea to check in and make proper introductions.

You'll have to forgive the lack of housewarming gift. We're a bit shorthanded at the moment, which I'm sure you can relate to.

[ From behind her peers a perfectly average guy with tousled hair dressed in sky blue slacks. He gives a friendly wave! ]

We did think about it, though.

[ She's silent for a few moments. Isn't that fine? Maybe she's pessimistic, but she thinks it's not a coincidence they were all split up like this. They're probably going to be pit against each other, in some way...? It doesn't make her feel eager to go out and socialize. ]

I haven't either, [ She admits that up front. ] Do you think we're supposed to...?

[ Inclines her head a fraction, her smile soft but opaque. ]

I think that it's a good idea to be familiar with your company in a shared crisis. Personally, I can't say I feel particularly inclined to do what we're "supposed" to be doing at the moment, seeing as that almost certainly doesn't include finding a way out.

[ "A shared crisis." That's one way of putting it. ]

Well — it'd be better if we could work together... I feel the same way about what we're "supposed" to be doing.

[ a beat. ]

I just wonder about this whole "class" thing. Being split up like this. Don't you?

Mm, I do. And why they're so confident that we will stick to their assigned groupings.

[ Not that she's made any attempt to break from hers, but she's not going to turn down safety in numbers when it's handed to her. ]

It does seem there may be one explanation for the categorizing, at least. It's beginning to sound like we might all have differing... afflictions.

That's what everyone keeps saying... these "curses."

[ The stealing things, the sharing emotions... well, she doesn't really know much about them outside of that. But anyway: ]

At least in Yakuyoke, we haven't been able to figure out anything concrete for us. So maybe some of us don't have it?

It doesn't seem terribly likely that only one group is the exception, though I suppose it's not impossible... Have you tried reading the journal in your dorm room yet?

Mm, I have. The journal had something written about protecting us from evil and corruption... what did yours say? I haven't heard about anyone else's journals.

Something about how "these little guys sure do seem to like me."

And "these little guys" must be... the spirits?

[ What other little guys have their been in the school thus far?! Spiders, maybe... ]

That seems like the most logical conclusion, especially in light of the nekomata's fondness for us.

Then, if we're ever all together when the ghosts come... we might have an idea of how they'll act at first.

[ By going for them first? It's not a great position to be in for them, but for the rest of them... ]

We'd just have to keep it in mind. There are a lot of people who want to protect everyone... if this is true, then I'm sure they'll want to help you.

[ She's thinking specifically of someone in her own team, but maybe there are others who have already come to them with such an offer. ]
