[early morning cat posting]
Who: everyone
When: July 25
Where: class 3-C
What: a few visitors!
Warnings: none!
[On Friday morning at 6:00 a.m. on the dot, the student body is awoken not by the bell, but by the sound of meowing echoing over the intercom.
[It's not just the PA system, either. Soft, gentle, and very cute mewls fill the classroom hallways; distant on floors one and two, but much louder on floor three. Intrepid explorers who follow the noise will find that one of the third floor classrooms has been overtaken by a pack of ghostly cats!]
[Each creature is the size of a normal housecat, and has the mannerisms of one. That is, they will attempt to hop into your lap for some prime cuddling time, ears and tails flicking adorably all the while. Their bodies are a pale, ghostly white, and their eyes glow a soft, gentle blue. Although they are translucent, they are still solid to the touch, and they feel just like a normal cat does. Soft fur and everything! Aren't they precious? Aren't they just so stinkin' cute??? DON'T YOU JUST WANT TO SMOOSH THEIR ROUND LI'L KITTEN FACES??]
[So long as characters are kind to the cat spirits, the Nekomata are completely harmless. They just want to play and snuggle!! Although. . .]
[Anyone who touches a cat spirit will find themselves hit with a sudden need for physical contact. This can range from something small (desiring a high five) to something bigger (needing to CUDDLE THE SHIT outta someone). Being surrounded by more than one Nekomata means the compulsion becomes stronger, too! One cat means it can probably be safely ignored, but five?? If you don't HOLD SOMEONE'S HAND RIGHT THIS SECOND you JUST MAY DIE!!]
[Oh, so you don't like cats? No problem! The Nekomata are mischievous creatures, and they WILL leap onto people's backs and shoulders without warning. Being cat spirits, they can also teleport from one place to another, so. . . you can be minding your own business one second, blink, and then be staring into the eyes of a cute cat spirit perched on your lap the next.]
[The Nekomata will be drawn towards members of Anzen more than anyone else per their target lock curse, but they are excited to shower literally anyone in a bit of cute kitty affection, regardless of their homeroom]
[Please let me know if your character is being violent and/or aggressive towards the Nekomata. Otherwise, enjoy some compulsive physical bonding with a cute ghostly flair!]

Inhales.]
My assessment of your horns?

Then, again, immediately finding composure in analysis:]
Long, straight, reminiscent of an oryx's horns, were it not for the smooth texture nestled under the faintest layer of skin. They are quite sharp at the top, are they not? You must find yourself being careful around others, given your short stature.
[She must be careful if she leans in too close, or tilts her head just-so.]
I see no sign of previous injury or breakage, so they either grow back if such a misfortune takes place, or you simply are fastidious with how well you care for them. What else? The shift in color is pleasant to look at.

a slight, slight curve to the corner of her mouth.
she tsks and lifts her crumpled paper again. ]
Overwhelming desire for touch, you said?
[ not about to gloss over the concerning nature of that ]
no subject
Yes. Undeniably strong, especially for someone like myself. I am not a particularly physically affectionate man.
[and everyone was shocked]
Though this inclination is clearly unpredictable as it is potent. You were not affected at all.

[ and any urges she may feel are faint and confused for the thoughts of what gestures once came easy. the idle wish, and more active disbelief, that they will come easily ever again. ]
Perhapsβ [ ha. purrhaps. she stops and twitches her lips once more. then starts again with more emphasis: ] Perhaps their ambient desire for attention transferred to you via contact. This is not unheard of.
no subject
Purrhaps. He sees that humor, passing by. It emboldens him to contradict her slightly.]
You had just as many following you as me.
no subject
Ah, but I do not pet.
no subject
No, I suppose not.
[Both hands in his pockets, then.]
Why are you trying to keep away from them?
[She never looked afraid; only anxious and tense.]

Most animals. Surely you have seen how dog or cat get when faced with what they cannot comprehend.
no subject
Your devilish countenance, you mean? These cats didnβt appear to care.

[ tension ramping into her shoulders. cute and cuddly one moment, but what if their temper turns? she will not be left bleeding or bitten at the whims of a ghost, all for the want of petting something. ]
They are too small, and temperamental, and quick to anger.
[ are you sure you aren't describing yourself, Severine? ]

β¦Too small?

When it comes to cats, itβs often the opposite. Everyone loves a kitten.

[ the shape of it may begin making itself apparent, now. while not the sole reason, the fear of small animals in their fragility compared to her. but why? ]
Kitten, puppy-dog, bird, rabbit, lamb. What if you step on it?
no subject
Which leaves the questionβ¦]
Has that ever happened to you before

[ there were simply never pets in the Vaux household at all.
the thought occurs that all they've done is go down some stairs, and the nekomata are fully capable of following. she starts moving up the hall at a brisk walk, expecting him to follow but not waiting for him if he does not. ]
We are having very clear rules in my family.
