[On Friday morning at 6:00 a.m. on the dot, the student body is awoken not by the bell, but by the sound of meowing echoing over the intercom.

[It's not just the PA system, either. Soft, gentle, and very cute mewls fill the classroom hallways; distant on floors one and two, but much louder on floor three. Intrepid explorers who follow the noise will find that one of the third floor classrooms has been overtaken by a pack of ghostly cats!]

[Each creature is the size of a normal housecat, and has the mannerisms of one. That is, they will attempt to hop into your lap for some prime cuddling time, ears and tails flicking adorably all the while. Their bodies are a pale, ghostly white, and their eyes glow a soft, gentle blue. Although they are translucent, they are still solid to the touch, and they feel just like a normal cat does. Soft fur and everything! Aren't they precious? Aren't they just so stinkin' cute??? DON'T YOU JUST WANT TO SMOOSH THEIR ROUND LI'L KITTEN FACES??]

[So long as characters are kind to the cat spirits, the Nekomata are completely harmless. They just want to play and snuggle!! Although. . .]

[Anyone who touches a cat spirit will find themselves hit with a sudden need for physical contact. This can range from something small (desiring a high five) to something bigger (needing to CUDDLE THE SHIT outta someone). Being surrounded by more than one Nekomata means the compulsion becomes stronger, too! One cat means it can probably be safely ignored, but five?? If you don't HOLD SOMEONE'S HAND RIGHT THIS SECOND you JUST MAY DIE!!]

[Oh, so you don't like cats? No problem! The Nekomata are mischievous creatures, and they WILL leap onto people's backs and shoulders without warning. Being cat spirits, they can also teleport from one place to another, so. . . you can be minding your own business one second, blink, and then be staring into the eyes of a cute cat spirit perched on your lap the next.]

[The Nekomata will be drawn towards members of Anzen more than anyone else per their target lock curse, but they are excited to shower literally anyone in a bit of cute kitty affection, regardless of their homeroom]

[Please let me know if your character is being violent and/or aggressive towards the Nekomata. Otherwise, enjoy some compulsive physical bonding with a cute ghostly flair!]

Oh I see! One of those types, huh? We ruined its game.

[ Zuo Le sighs heavily, before taking the glass and taking a sip out of it himself. No point in letting it go to waste. ]

Some game that is.

To be fair, it is only a cat. What else is it going to play with?

[ A pause, uncertain about how to answer that. ]

I wouldn't know. The cats that I'm familiar with tend to behave very differently.

[ The boy himself is rocking a full on scaley tail, so she may or may not be able to guess what he means by that. ]

Well, a domestic housecat then. They make their own fun.

[ He opens his mouth to protest that clarifying it that way does not make them more familiar to him, but decides it's not worth arguing. It seems like other people are more familiar with these little critters than he is. ]

I can see that now.

Some of them should be more polite, though. For being strays, these guys seem pretty used to people.

[ They do come across as domesticated rather than wild.

Ironic in how in the near future the domesticated one will be... Well, that's a problem for future Zuo Le. The current boy is giving the satisfied cat in front of him an exasperated look. ]

They live in a building built by people, don't they? I don't imagine they're truly stray.

Yeah, but when's the last time there were people here to feed them?

That's hard to say...

[ And he frowns thoughtfully looking at the little creatures. ]

Do they actually need to eat at all?

I don’t know, actually.

[candlestick]

[ A sigh as he looks at the happy little creature causing problems for him, not realizing how many more problems they'll be causing for him in the future. ]

As long as they don't get worse than this, I suppose it's something I can tolerate.

[ Better than the thing that came after them on their first day here. ]

Tolerating is good enough.

[ He'll make an uncertain sound, like he's not so sure, but leave it at that. After all, they haven't realized yet how bad the ghost can get, and how good they've got it with these little guys just being a slight pest. ]
