(ladies! and gentlemen) it's time for tea!
Who: Kenkou & You
When: September 30th
Where: A spare classroom
What: Tea time :)
Warnings: Possible allusions to disordered eating, whatever trauma you want to bring to tea
( what's that fragrant smell coming from the classroom? well, connoisseurs will surely recognize it. )

mid morning lesson and performance: a japanese tea ceremony
Since hosting a class is a suitable option, I've decided to teach others about tea ceremonies from home. Let me know when you'd like me to begin. Please, have a seat.

afternoon: a traditional fodlan teatime
ANYWAYS THE TEA IS THE IMPORTANT PART. he's got a few varieties brewing - a bergamot earl grey, a black tea with rose petals, a fruit blend with dried apple, and chamomile.]
Ah, welcome. I've recreated an... attempt at a traditional afternoon tea, which is popular among the nobles of Fodlan. Normally held in the late afternoon, it is accompanied by treats and conversation as a way to tide one over until supper.
One's choice of tea is, of course, to each individual's own taste. Bergamot is popular, as is this rose petal blend - but my personal favourite is chamomile. Oh, there's actually quite a number of herbs and flowers from the greenhouse that are edible! No doubt they could also impart their aroma to a tea if you wish-- oh, uh. I may be rambling... If you wanted to learn more, I'd be happy to teach you.

[sits!! she's ready to learn and have CUTE SNACKS]
I'll learn. I like earl grey! Like— is Lady Earl Grey the one where it has lavender? I don't know a lot about tea, but they always look so pretty when there's flower petals in the looseleaf.
no subject
POURS HER A CUP OF TEA THOUGH, enjoy. there's cream and sugar over there if you want it]
Oh... back home, it is simply known as a lavender blend. There are many blends that sprang to popularity due to the favour of noble households, and summarily became named for them, but... there are no territories in Fodlan lorded over by the house of Grey.
But Lavender is edible, as you may have guessed. And I agree that the sight of its petals is especially charming.
no subject
I have no idea if it's named after a real Earl Grey. There's been so many earls. I know if it's made into a latte it's a London Fog, but I think that was just made up to sound nice?
Have you ever had lavender lemonade? That's really charming too.
i had to go on a deep dive to research if he knows what a lemon is
The matter of earls is, alas, a matter of great distinction in Fodlan still. If one were invented for the sake of selling tea, it would only be a matter of time until minor lords began to squabble over whether it de-legitimizes the noble class.
'Lemonade'... The word sounds familiar - almost like the limun fruit grown in far off Almyra. It's a citrus, if I recall correctly.
accuracy in fruit is important

technically he really should be occupied for this timeframe but let me tag Dimitri finally damnit
I've been bereft of tea since arrival. This is a wonderful opportunity.
timey wimey!!!
Ah... I can only hope I have steeped these to satisfaction. I confess, it is not my specialty.
But if the winning club is made manifest somewhere in this school, then perhaps it can be made available to everyone. That is my hope, at any rate.
Re: timey wimey!!!
A worthwhile hope. I'll hope for the same.
I don't believe I'm familiar with most of these varieties, so there is surely no need to be too concerned about the preparation.

Oh, my dear fellow, what a delight it is to even scent this again.
[And not the mediocre stuff he's been making up until now.]

pours him a cup!]
If there is hope that the club will be officially instated in the school, it was Kenkou's strategy to choose something that many people miss dearly. Perhaps it will open up resources for tea to be permanently available.
[metagaming!]

He takes the cup gratefully, taking in the scent first and foremost.]
Clever thinking. Perhaps Kin'un will throw the game just for Kenkou to win, then.
[They wouldn't, but oh, how nice it would be to have proper tea again. Holmes takes a sip, appreciative.]
Oh, that is good.

Thank you for the offer. I think I will try the chamomile.

I hope it turned out all right. As you know, I'm not the best judge...
[thankfully, he didn't fuck up the brew too badly. it's pretty okay, but not much better than that. purely average.]

It's light and goes down easily. I like it.
