I mean, if you know where to look. But the government knows. And it's in your hospital records. If they really want to be sure who you are, they'll check your name, your address, your birthdate, your phone number, your birth certificate, your driver's license, and your Social Security number. That's a number that only you have.

They probably don't have my middle name, but nobody uses that. But most people only have one name, yeah. Like there could be two Eowyn Rohans, but I would be Eowyn Jessica Rohan and she'd be Eowyn Amber Rohan.

Where I'm from, there is at least a change from a childhood name to a courtesy name, and sometimes other names or titles are acquired. 'Middle' names... I don't know of such a custom.

We don't really have that. There's exceptions, obviously, like people who don't want the name they were born with anymore or some religious stuff, but usually the most you get is someone changing their surname when they get married or adding a title.

I must admit, I would find it a little bit embarrassing to go by my childhood name for the rest of my life

You would hope so, but...! We still get some weird ones. Like, one of my friend's names is just, like, a misspelling. But it's what his parents picked, so it's his now.
