[ He's here to peek at the journal and the yearbook a bit more, too. He'd read through them before, of course, but now that there's not a pressing threat breathing down their necks, he can scrutinize them a bit more thoroughly.

Those sections are kind of the weird ones. Other stuff is pretty basic and straight forward, but the clubs are all over the place.

[She flips back over to his page to see what it has to say about him.]

[She laughs.]

Sounds like you have your priorities in order. Have you spent much time exploring the school yet?

Just a cursory look. Figured it would be better to wait to search in earnest til after I took care of the rest of those injuries.

[Those stupid strings had done a number on her.]

They're open. [And boy does she sound more worried than excited about that fact.] Probably a sign of what our captors think our chances of escaping are.

[Something that's not a concern for the enemy is a big concern for them.]

...That was my thought, as well. If they didn't even bother to lock us in, then they must be confident that something else out there will keep us from leaving.

[ Which, yeah! Is way worse than just being locked in in the first place. ]

[And, uh, yeah! That big monster at the window seemed like really bad news!]

So I guess I can see where that confidence comes from. But that's not gonna stop me from giving it a try.

I do wonder...how real that thing was. If it wasn't just a hallucination, like these after-effects were enjoying now. That said...I'd rather not learn the truth the hard way.

[She closes her eyes and rubs at her forehead a little.]

Hell, it could've been all in our heads. Better to be prepared for the worst either way, though.
