[new management]
Who: Kenkou, others!
When: September 8
Where: the cafeteria, and. . . ?
What: another class had another little adventure
Warnings: some people got stabbed and frostbitten! also unsanitary kitchen conditions in the adventure itself
[You wake up the morning of September 8, and. . . the food is burnt again. Worse than it was last weekend. There is barely anything edible in the morning breakfast spread. Maybe you choke it down anyway? Maybe you decide to wait and see if lunch is any better? Either way, it isn't ideal. This sucks! What is even going on??]
[Thankfully, by the time lunch rolls around, the food seems to be back to normal. . . although there are an awful lot of Kenkou's hanging around the newly opened kitchen door]
[Wait]
[Wait!!!]
[THE KITCHEN DOOR IS OPEN!!!]

[sure that's what you're doing, buddy]
Next?

Its range was severely limited to the opening of the doorway, and so was its ammunition. So long as we were not within the range of its sight, we would not take damage.
However, the most disastrous strategy possible in that moment would be to throw ourselves into that bottleneck without any form of shielding.

She blinks, slowly processing that.
...?]
Uh... okay?
[...]
So... uh, what happened? [SURELY NOT THE MOST DISASTROUS STRATEGY.]
no subject
We did not regroup.
We threw ourselves in front of the doorway.

But we did not establish a chain of command. We were uncoordinated, as a team. I am accustomed to operating as soldier - and falsely assumed that the others had knowledge of military tactics, instead of foreseeing that they would be acting as individuals.

The hill she can die on. It's calling her name.]
Yeah? And did anyone ever volunteer to talk about how they're totally not a soldier and they don't know anything about military tactics while you've been here?

As Citrine lied about his skills, I assumed he would stay out of the line of fire due to being a noncombatant as well.
Tiger Lily is actively combating a world destroying force back home, but I wrongly associated her high level of power with the size of her organization.

[Which also, good. She'd have been pissed otherwise.]
Not your fault still, by the way.

Perhaps it was that I did not wish to be presumptuous. I'm the youngest member on Kenkou, after all.

You guys are the second class to have this happen, but before that, it was Anzen. You know, the ghost target class?
None of us had any reason to think it'd happen again! And once it did happen, I doubt you guys had time to "run through scenarios".

Be that as it may, Mamoru and Hiro should probably prepare Shiawase for the prospect of undergoing something similar.
no subject
We're not done here, though, so don't deflect.
What's next on the list? Or do I need to go over it more to get you to realize how much this isn't your fault?
no subject
...I'm sorry. It's just that, you reminded me of someone very dear to me for a second.

[... She scowls at that (from embarrassment), looking away, crossing her arms with a huff.]
W-well, if you think that's going to distract me, it won't...!
no subject
Yes, even your demeanour is the same.
...I had promised to Snowdrop that I would apologize to you. For doubting your words when I had been beset by hallucinations. It would be hypocritical to that oath if I were to disbelieve you again.
no subject
... You're so irritating. Don't apologize to me for not believing me when you were hallucinating.
But yeah, good. Don't disbelieve me now, at least. That's fine, because I'm just telling it like it is.
no subject
Snowdrop insisted on it, unfortunately. She was extremely upset by the slight to your honour.

Yeah, well. Now you can tell her you apologized, and--uh. I guess... I forgive you? I don't really think it's necessary, but there. Problem solved.
no subject
For both your forgiveness, and your words.
no subject
... What matters is you all made it through. So... worry about recovering and next time you'll do better.
