I only wish there was someone here familiar with dishes from home... they're what I miss most, if I were to try making my own food.

What do you normally eat, anyway?

Meals back home are often hearty and meaty, but apparently our seasoning is an acquired taste. There's little fresh produce due to our long, cold winters, so much of our vegetables are pickled. And we have a cheese famous to the North that we melt over our dishes - I'm especially fond of that.

Hm... None of that sounds that unusual. Do you think someone would be able to replicate it for you?

I wonder how accurately one could recreate it based on my descriptions alone... still, I'm not picky. It's only out of nostalgia that I long for these meals, less than the authenticity of flavour.

I think it's worth trying. I'm sure everyone wants something familiar to them when they're away from it for a while.

Is there anything from home you miss? Or is all this familiar enough for you - ghosts and curses nonwithstanding, of course.

Well... It's familiar enough that I don't feel totally out of place, but it's still not really home... I just miss being in the city and not having to worry about everything all the time.

Ah, I suppose this is a far cry from being in the city. Even I can recognize that.

Yeah... The longest I've been to the countryside is a few days, but I still wasn't stuck at a school even then.

You mentioned once that you were invisible to most people normally. How does that affect your living arrangements? And your daily needs, even?

—Oh, right... Well, uh—we do have our ways of blending in and making sure humans don't get suspicious of us, but we still try to hang out where they're less likely to be.

... But to be honest, I guess there isn't much stopping us from taking what we want sometimes, too...
