[a little swaperoo]
Who: people!
When: the week of August 18
Where: around the school
What: mischief! mischief!
Warnings: nada
[The mysterious red threads decorating the school have cleared up as of this fine Monday morning. Is it finally safe to venture out again?? For the most part, yes! But. . . the Mischief Makers seem to be in prime form today, for some reason? If you spend any significant time outside the safety of your dorm or the nurse's office, you may find yourself the victim of one of their silly little pranks!]
[It may take you a moment to notice, but once you do, you realize. . . the omamori that you're carrying around with you isn't yours! Whether it was during breakfast, while you were perusing the school library's book collection, or just passing throughout the hallways, the Mischief Makers have yoinked your omamori and swapped it with someone else's. SCANDALOUS. You'd better return this missing charm to its rightful owner ASAP. And get your own back, too. Just in case]
[Swapped charms will act as dousing rods of a sort, leading you to the charm's proper owner. There's nothing stopping you from making a trade once you find them! Though. . . you may want to guard your charm a little more closely after this, just in case the Mischief Makers try to yoink it again. . .]
[Otherwise! The school continues to exist in its super haunted state. The auditorium recently got a makeover. Maybe you're discovering the bathroom ghosts for the very first time. And hey, are there two new portraits hanging in the school lobby. . .]
[ENJOY YOUR WEEK.]

[not even trying to deny it, shoulders slumped]
. . . by the way, you look like a Latte.

no subject
[he repeats, as if that explains anything]
I'm Puck-- the "pu" in "Cappuccino." Bombon is. . . well, Bombon, for Cafe Bombon. Macchi for Macchiato, and Mocha for. . . Mocha!
There's Styx too, but he didn't want a coffee-inspired alias, so he got a pass.
no subject
I think getting "Puck" from the "pu" in "Cappuccino" is a bit of a stretch.
no subject
It was going to be "Cap" or "Captain," but someone else on Katsumori-- the green class-- grabbed that one first.

[ Sir. ]
no subject
Who died and made you the coffee alias boss?
no subject
[ ... ]
You could say you're named after an espresso puck.
no subject
[weirdly attached, even if he didn't wind up using it straight up]
no subject
[ He flexes his hand, inspecting the bandages. ]
I would prefer not to be "latte," though.
no subject
Do you like tea?
no subject
[ Bracing for another possible nickname to be thrown his way... ]
no subject
[. . .]
Chai. Like chai tea? Or a chai latte.
no subject
That sounds acceptable to me.
no subject
Welcome to Anzen, Chai. We'll do our best to take care of you.

[ guy who just hauled your ass through a gauntlet of ghosts ]
Are the... ghosts usually that aggressive?
no subject
[he lets it slide, though not without a little squint]
Not all of them, but for us? When they're aggressive, they're aggressive.
[holding up his hand, revealing the outline of a white catchfly drawn in light blue etched across the back of his palm]
It's the nature of our classroom curse.
no subject
He frowns, lifting his good arm, revealing a sprig of gladiolus flowers in fine blue lines running up the outside of his forearm. ]
Our... curse?
no subject
Each homeroom has a different curse. Ours attracts violent ghosts. The pink class finds themselves overcome with the urge to steal. The green class struggles to withhold certain truths, while the yellow class just has bad luck. The red class. . . I think people can feel their emotions when they touch them? And the gray-blue class gets sick a lot more easily.
Nobody knows what the purple class's curse is, though. They can't seem to figure it out.
no subject
[ Wait, give him a second to parse all that, though strangely the only question he really comes away with is: ]
About how many people are in each class?
no subject
[explain it, he means. nts: tell this guy about the safe areas of the school just in case]
About five or six, give or take. Though you'd be our seventh member.
[since he still doesn't know about Styx]
no subject
That's no small amount of people. And no one's found a way out of here yet?
